These powerful micro-controllers have meanwhile been tried and tested in large numbers in numerous applications. The Unit Mega 32 consists of an 8 bit RISC processor unit (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) with flash memory, EEPROM, S-RAM, digital ports, timer/counter, comparator, PWM/DAC channels and serial interface. The model Mega 128 offers along with these system components more storage capacity and a large number of input/output interfaces. Most of the 131 commands of the AVR controller are processed with a pulse. For this reason these components achieve an extraordinarily high processing speed. The micro-controller chips are present together with other important system components in a compact DIL-component (40 or 64-pin casing) and thus make up the CC-Pro module. A quartz generator is present in the module with a frequency of 14.7456 MHz for clock generation.A C/Basic-Byte-Code-Interpreter is also pre-installed in the module, which takes care of converting the higher programming languages in the machine language. The programme for the respective application can, therefore, be written on a PC in the programming languages "C" or "Basic".
