The device is small enough to fit in your pocket. Tiny yet versatile, it offers all the functions of a router, access point, wireless network repeater and network storage - all in a device that easily fits in the palm of your hand.Different modes for all your needsThe Mobile Cloud Companion Repeater supports a number of different operating modes and can adapt to any application. In Router mode, you can share your broadband Internet connection via a wireless network. Just connect it to your cable or DSL modem, and you can share high-speed Internet access in your entire household or office. In AP mode, you can immediately establish a wireless network, ideal, for example, for sharing files during business meetings. The repeater mode extends existing wireless networks. Just place the device anywhere in your home to increase the range of your wireless network. WLAN hotspot mode enables an Internet connection provided by a Wi-Fi hotspot to be shared. In this way, you can use a wireless connection on all your devices in hotels or restaurants. You can also connect any device to the Ethernet port in repeater mode or in WLAN hotspot mode to integrate it into your wireless network. Connect an Xbox 360® or a smart TV to the DIR-505 to give these devices wireless access to your router and at the same time improve WLAN coverage in your home.Share and stream files easilyConnect a USB storage device to your DIR-505 to provide memory for shared use. This allows you to easily share files between computers and other devices connected to your network. Connect a USB hard drive to stream content from your video and music library to your laptop or use a USB flash drive to share presentation files with members of your team. The easy-to-use Web interface enables you to upload, access, and play files stored on the USB drive. The SharePort™ mobile app for mobile devices can be used to backup photos and videos which are stored on your device. You can even manage shared storage by creating separate user accounts for accessing the USB drive. In this way, you can, for example, share your music with all users and simultaneously protect your personal files from others. The DIR-505 can also be used as a media server in your home network. It is equipped with an integrated DLNA server which allows media content stored on the USB storage device to be streamed to all DLNA-compatible players such as PlayStation 3® and Xbox 360 ®.
