Those barcode cards are an interesting alternative to magnetic stripe cards, as they are easy to produce, low in cost and non-sensitive to environmental influences like strong magnetic fields, or dust and dirt. One solution for easy reading of those barcode cards is the Glancetron 650 barcode slot reader series. The decoder processes the barcode information and immediately transmits the transformed data to the host. The Glancetron 650 is connected directly to every PC via USB, keyboard wedge or serial (RS232). Special features: the Glancetron 650 reads standard (visible) as well as infrared (invisible) barcodes. They are covered with a greyish-black film that is impenetrable to visible light. This means the barcode is not visible to the eye and can neither be copied nor read with a normal scanner. The decoder processes all common barcodes and has diverse setting possibilities. An extensive set of barcode cards with programming codes is included in the delivery for programming the 650 (for example, turning off certain barcode types, setting of prefixes and suffixes, or changing the signal tone). |
