These measurements were not chosen at random. They are the result of careful studies, calculated on advanced CAD systems to meet the demands of model railway enthusiasts and those who just want to have fun. With this pattern, almost all track layouts can be represented very easily, without the need for small filler pieces: Elegant junctions on straights or curves, various distances between parallel tracks, with the ability to install existing accessories such as platforms, etc. The simple pattern makes complicated track layouts unnecessary. Track layouts can be drawn on simple square-ruled paper to determine the required track pieces. The special feature of PIKO A track geometry is that it only needs a few track pieces, and model railway enthusiasts do not need to add filler pieces at points or crossovers, where they can cause bumpy running. For the straights, the 470 mm long module is divided into two different lengths of track: 231 mm and 239 mm. This is the secret that allows parallel tracks to be laid through two points without the need for filler pieces. The PIKO A rail profile consists of a high-quality nickel silver alloy and is a full profile track with ideal conductive properties, even on long stretches. The spring steel rail connectors ensure permanent and solid connections, and ensure current continuity through rail joints. The sleepers are made of high-quality ABS plastic, which is characterized by high impact strength, good noise reduction and resistance to stress cracking.
