An IEEE-488 port is located at the interface which can be plugged in an IEEE-488 connecting cable. The connection to an IEEE-488 controller (control unit of an IEEE-488 bus system) can be established via the cable. You can use a PC equipped with appropriate plug-in card as IEEE-488 controller. If you are using an IEC-625 cable, then you will need a suitable plug adapter HO740 works in the "Device" mode, i.e. it receives commands from the controller, passes on to the oscilloscope and if necessary, transmits signal data to the controller. Data transfer is done bidirectional in parallel form.
