The cable itself consists of stranded tinned copper conductors insulated with PVC, double screened with aluminised polyester tape and tinned copper braid to give a shield effectiveness of 70 dB at 100 MHz, with overall flexible black PVC jacket. Regular and short lengths of the cable are bonded to allow IDC termination. The cable is ideal for data transmission applications in cramped spaces and a round shape is more workable. Round to Flat Ribbon cables provide a simple, quick and cost-effective solution to mass termination. They also have space and weight saving advantages over other wiring methods and are ideal for use on computers, peripherals, and interface units, audio and digital equipment. The cables in this range are IDC ribbon cables in a round format which takes up less space and enables easier routing than standard or flat jacketed types. Warning These cables are not to be regarded as power cables or cables for the direct connection of equipment to mains power supplies. |
