Discs can be changed on the fly, as all positions supports Hot-swap. The extensions can be directly without having to reformat the existing hard drives. The unit connects to the station via InfiniBand, which ensures connectivity with high bandwidth to further ensure efficiency. InfiniBand enables the use of hard drives in the same manner as if it were an internal drive in the base station and no lag in data retrieval. The unit is made in the height 2U intended for installation in a control cabinet Rack. Management is carried out with Synology DiskStation Manager 3.1 There is no need to install any additional firmware.
