This barrel is enclosed in a copper sleeve and the whole is encased in a nylon colour coded insulation sleeve. These PIDG ring tongue wire crimp connectors have a heavy duty design for extra mechanical strength and are available with different barrel lengths and diameters to accept various wire sizes. TE Connectivity PIDG Terminals High quality terminals and splices for applications in hazardous operating conditions. The PIDG ("Pre-Insulated Diamond Grip") product range meets the requirements of military standards MIL-T-7928 and BS4G178. The terminals are constructed from high grade copper. The crimp barrel has inner serrations to ensure maximum contact with the stripped wire strands. A bonded nylon to copper sleeve is secured onto the terminal barrel providing simultaneous crimping of conductor and outer insulation giving a connection of high tensile strength and vibration resistance.
