Control is through stroke and direction signals (opto-decoupled 5 - 24 V). In order to prevent unnecessary overheating of the motor, a dynamic current matching facility with standby current reduction is used to provide the motor with only as much current as is necessary. Parameterisation of the IDX 7505 is performed over the RS-485 interface with an ASCII protocol (on a PC for instance with "Hyperterminal"). Simple drive commands and automatic reference journeys can also be started over the interface.
